Hello, I am Luis
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Madrid, Spain.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Spain wasn't in the master plan. As is common with expat relocations, it started as a job chance and almost instantly grew into something much more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Day-to-day tasks seemed tougher than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Brook Stone View
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a truthful, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice rooted in real-life experiences in Spain.
What This Site Covers (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- An official tourism-authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Spain continues, and the learning process goes on as well. As long as the information remains useful, I'll continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Luis
